On April 27, 2011 Ringgold, Georgia was left in devastation from a EF-4 tornado. As much as I wanted to go take photographs then, I waited. Being so close to the action of the tornado was shocking for everyone in our household as well. Less than 10 miles down the road from our house an entire neighborhood was ripped apart. However Ringgold is where the most devastation occurred.

Almost 4 months later after the tornado it is still so apparent of all the damage. On August 10, I went into Ringgold as I had a couple times since the tornado but this time to document the still recovering and devastation from the tornado. This pictures really do not do justice to just how upsetting the damage still is after these months. Ringgold is rebuilding but it will be a long process.

I love impromptu shoots.

I love snow, mainly because in Georgia you don’t get it very often. This is from the second snow this year! Man I love it!

I make the biggest impulse of my life so far. To pick up and move about 300 plus miles from Georgia. Pretty much “back home” for me. Although not everyone agreed, its what I did. I have to say that where I am now, is one of the prettiest sceneries that I have seen in a long time. There is no more hustle and bustle of Atlanta. I can see the stars at night. It truly is a wonderful place.

One of the other great things about this change is that amazing opportunities of new locations to shoot!  I will be posting new pictures for often, I hope.

A couple of weeks ago…I also photography one of my long time friends Katie for my specialized Study. I dressed her up like a 1920s Flapper. Although it took a while to get everything rolling, everything worked out well. Kaite, is always that personthat is down for anything and everything so it was really fun to photograph her!

The day was all planned out but we had alot of snags in the way. First off, there I was taking my own lights out to shoot with. They are not battery powered so we bought a charger that hooks into the car battery to run the lights. After getting everything set up for the shoot and Rebekah was dressed and ready to go, the car wouldn’t start. We realized at that point that for the last 30mintues to an hour, the car had not been running but just turned over for the AC. So there we were stuck, in the middle of no where! Nichole tried to call her roadside assistance people but they did not get in a rush. While we were waiting on them, Rebekah and I started shooting, got some really cool stuff that was just what I had thought of. By mircale the car started, so we let it charge for a bit and headed out.

On the way back we stopped in a small town to take some more photos, these had a really different feel even in the same outfit! I love these, everything here was Nichole’s idea and pushing me, like she likes too! The day may have been stressfulfor everyone involved but I love the end result!
